This essay seeks to understand why Eastern traditions deviated from the worship of God and how their conception of divinity came to be. This research is significant because it sheds light on the prevalent beliefs in China and India, which include the worship of ancestors who are fathers and grandfathers, the sanctification of natural forces, the belief in the plurality of deities, and the practice of spiritual worship to achieve the state of union with God. The purpose of this study is to provide answers to the following questions: Is the eastern conception of divinity unified? The research relied on the mother of all texts of eastern beliefs, the Tao, and employed both the inductive and the deductive methods. The study's most significant conclusions are that belief in the monotheistic concept of deity is not the foundation of the ethical and philosophical eastern religions that are most prevalent in China and India. The study also revealed that Eastern beliefs met a plurality of gods, and that people gradually went through stages in their quest to find the god who best suited their needs. They also practiced magic, sorcery, astrology, and other forms of polytheism, as well as worshiping the forces of nature, totems, and humans.
Muhammad Asad Latif Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Asad Latif https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://dirosat.com/index.php/i/article/view/73 Sat, 16 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Literature and ICTE: Issues and Perspectives https://dirosat.com/index.php/i/article/view/74
Throughout the undulating course of history, literature has remained a steadfast companion to the pursuit of language instruction, defying the ebb and flow of its prominence. This paper investigates how far this claim is true in relation to the Nigerian Arabic plays. The research is analytic and descriptive in nature. The study analyses the representation of women and describes their portrayal in six (6) randomly selected Nigerian Arabic plays namely; Ustadhun Ragma Anfih (A Teacher in Defiance of Him), Fi-Mash-had at-Tilifisyun (At the Television Viewing centre), Al-Dhakhirat(The Relic), Baqaaun Muqaddar (Destined to survive), As-sayyid Al-muhadir (Mr. Lecturer) and Al-Hasad (The Harvest). The result of the analyses of the characterization ,with the aid of ratio and simple percentage, reveals that women are poorly represented in all the selected plays and the examination of the roles assigned to women in the selected texts shows that women are portrayed as illiterate, evil, liars, sex toys and disobedient. This paper recommends that authors of the Nigerian Arabic plays should assign more positive roles to women in their writings to reveal some of the positive roles played by women in the society and equally put more female characters in the characterization.
Lawal Rahman Copyright (c) 2024 Lawal Rahman https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://dirosat.com/index.php/i/article/view/89 Mon, 18 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 E-Learning and Teaching Methods: Towards New Innovative Practices https://dirosat.com/index.php/i/article/view/88
In recent years, due to the rapid development of information and communication technologies, online education has grown exponentially, opening up new perspectives in the field of education, but it faces many challenges related to learner engagement, retention and quality of learning.
